Joey Bada$$ x J Dilla x Akomplice - Give Back Pt. 1

The fruits of the collaborative effort between Joey Bada$$, Akomplice Clothing and The J Dilla Foundation manifested in the form of $10,000 worth of musical production equipment donated to Joey's alma mater, The Edward R. Murrow High School. The three teamed up for a capsule collection and an unreleased track "Two Lips", of which 100% of the profits were to be donated to youth music programs in Joey and Dilla's respective hometowns, Brooklyn and Detroit. In the accompanying video, we see Joey and his Pro Era crew return to a hero's welcome at Murrow, which includes a visit to the hallowed ground on which Pro Era was founded. Watch as Joey walks the halls and reminisces on his high school years. In honor of J Dilla's legacy, the collaborators set out to give kids a chance to learn how to make the type of music that J Dilla created, innovating the classroom. Akomplice's dedication to hip-hop culture runs deep, so it's only fitting they spearheaded a collaboration that bridged two era's of hip-hop. In the video, we see that the donation will be put to good use through a freshly minted music production program at the school. Detroit will be next to receive their donation. Also, be on the lookout for Joey Bada$$'s upcoming album B4.DA.$$, set to drop January 20th, 2015.

SAVAGE

Going to school in the cookie-cutter, plain-jane-with-no-shame city of Irvine, CA, there is usually not much excitement that goes on. Most of the students at Irvine Valley College wear generally the same thing. There are those few wealthy students who wear Pyrex shorts, Nike Air Yeezy 2, whatever Retro Jordan model was just released, BAPE, etc., but often times they cannot seem to pull off the full outfit.

However, there are those few students who fight against the trends and break necks with their combonations. One of which is my new homie, Adam Sabolick. Adam is an art student, currently at IVC and is on the speech and debate team. For a while, Adam was rocking a green mohawk, and wears some form of a vintage snapback. Although he can often be found wearing Raiders gear (Los Angeles not Oakland), he is not a fan of football but of the City of LA itself.
Pictured here, Adam is rocking a orange-camoflauge hunting jacket, Vintage Marcus Allen LA Raiders jersey, Olive pants with the cuffs rolled up and a pair of Green PF Flyers to finish it off.

However, the part of this look that completes it is his hair. He was recently explaining to me how he buzzed off the majority of mohawk and was growing out the tail and the part on front in hopes to have it braided. Channeling his inner Coolio (if you don't know who that is you're missing out), he came into class today with it braided in all its glory!

Big shoutout to Adam and his boldness always being on point! You will be seeing more of him in the future for sure. Follow him on Instagram at @adamextended.

THE QUEEN

Queen B has blessed her loyal followers with another video for her song "7/11". Rather than have a very high-end expensive shoot, she seems to go low-key and shoot her and her crew as they are hanging out having a good time in their hotel suite.
